Personal Testimony
I am Jon M Syrbe from New York, USA. I am presently 41 years old, and have been a Christian about 22 years, while being in Ministry & Missions for over 19 years, traveling through 45+ countries-while frequenting several times through some.

There were the joys and challenges of growing up. Through what I faced, and making many wrong choices, I had been known to light fires, steal, and have addictive behaviours. Others would not have wanted to be my friend had they known what I was really like. I nearly missed life as I had wanted—more than once—to take my life. Yet somehow through God’s grace, He sustained me until 19 years of age when I came to know Him. From then until now, He has given me a heart & passion for people, leaders, women, children & youth—of all walks of life—globally.

Specific experience

1988-1992—Youth Ministry - 4 years
1990-1992—People For Missions; Prisons, orphanages, unreached people, church planting etc.
1990—Christ For The Nations Biblical Institute.
1992—Youth With Mission (YWAM) Discipleship Training School (DTS).
1993-2000—YWAM’s Mercy Ships. Serving on the full time evangelism/discipling team aboard the M/V Anastasis. Leading in the 3rd year.
1997—Graduate of the School of Biblical Studies (SBS) of YWAM.
1997-2000—Aboard the M/V Anastasis, I was DTS staff for 5 schools, leading 4 teams from the ship to Ukraine, Russia, Canary Islands, Guinea (Sierra Leonean Refugees), and the jungle in Madagascar.
2000-2003—Authored a book: “Where There Is No Leader, TAG-You’re It!” 2000—Ordained through churches of 2 denominations joined together. (Methodist & Non Denominational Charismatic).
2000 to present—I have been traveling through more than 20 countries teaching in churches, rehab centers, YWAM’s SBS’s, and DTS’s, on the streets, seminars & conferences, training pastors, leaders & potential leaders, children [and schools], as well as working with families-primarily within developing countries. * I have attended YWAM Conference-“Connexity 2002”-on Global Women’s Issues-Malaysia.

Teaching
Books taught in depth—Genesis, Exodus, Judges, 1&2 Samuel, Job, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song Of Songs, Micah, Obadiah, Matthew, John, 1 Corinthians, Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Hebrews, James, 1 Peter, 1 John, 2 John, and 3 John.

Other primary teachings—OT & NT Overview, The OT Prophets, Seminars on Biblical Studies, The Value of Life, Men & Women, Marriage, Leadership, Belief Systems, Passion, What is Love, etc. (The Seminars would be from 2 hours and longer-up to 10-20 hours. The hours would be extended depending on the need for translation).

I utilize a wide variety of illustrations from dramatizing, to photos and video clips.
* And can speak & teach in Spanish with some difficulty-without complete fluency.

Venues Ministered
Churches, youth meetings, schools, prisons, youth camps, pastors, in the bushe, the jungle, SBS, DTS, on the streets, to prostitutes, red-light districts, TV, radio, and performed for heads of state with the civic & press (drama), helicoptering with the Jesus Film in remote villages, and more.
